The first step is to have you contact us about a possible session, either through our [contact page], email, or in person. After, we will email you a booking proposal that you will review, sign the attached contract and send back to us via email, along with a retainer fee (50% of entire charge). If you would like, you may request a free consultation before booking to access your needs and wants; there Liz will explain the best approach. We will follow up with you to discuss hair/makeup/ wardrobe choices that are best. The final balance is due by the scheduled shoot time. We accept cash, check, and credit cards. On the day of the shoot we will arrive early and expect you to be there promptly on time. We choose the best possible light for your shoot and you could miss it if you are late. After the shoot we will provide a password-protected proofing gallery. You may select your images and we will retouch and deliver them via automatic download, flash drive, and/or prints.
I feel that my shooting style is a cross between fashion and photojournalistic- storytelling if you will. I’m a big fan of candid moments and genuine laughter.
The duration of the session depends on you, my dear client. On average, head shot and model comp card sessions can last from 15 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how many different looks you are aiming to achieve. Family portrait shoots range from 20 minutes to 2 hours; they usually last around 1.5 hour, contingent with the participation of the client. For newborn and babies, we like to create a peaceful, non-rushed environment. These sessions can last 3-7 hours, with lots of time for feeding breaks/ accommodating mommy and baby needs.
Yes! Unfortunately, the middle of the day leads to squinty eyes and shadowy faces. The best times to shoot are 1-2 hrs after sunrise and 1-2 hrs before sunset. We will not book outdoor shoots in bad lighting conditions— we want you to look your best!
You may reschedule your shoot 5 days in advanced.
Indeed you do, and it is very simple. In the process of booking your shoot, you will be sent a proposal that will include the contract. You may review and sign the contract right on your computer, and send back the booking proposal via email.

No, there is a reason that shutter is firing off so much. An abundance of photos are taken to ensure an optimal final product. Whether that be to achieve the attention of each person in a family portrait, correct adjustments on the camera, or the perfect candid moment, more photos are taken than are used.
You will receive proofs within 14 business days. After receving your approval, we will send you the finished album in no later than 4 weeks for weddings and 2 weeks for portrait sessions.
We want this process to be as easy-breezy for you, therefore we take cash or check, as well as credit card payments online.
We can help you look your best through styling and makeup services. If you wish to receive extensive retouching services we provide that at $/hour.
Blah blah blah
An in-person consultation works best to get a true sense of how the session will pan out. However, here at Liz Kane & Co. we understand having little free time. Contact us to set up a phone or video chat consultation where we will discuss the details of your shoot.
During the consultation, Liz and the client will discuss outfits for the shoot. You want to make sure first and foremost that you are comfortable in what you are wearing. For groups, it is key to coordinate outfits, not match. Usually, keeping it simple works best. Busy patterns and distracting pieces may take away from the most important part of the photo- the subject(s)! Different color schemes also work for different seasons. Summer/spring calls for cooler, brighter colors, like blues, pinks, yellows. Fall/winter is associated with warmer colors; think browns, dark greens, oranges. However, as mentioned above, we will help you decide on outfits during the consultation. To get a good grasp on coordinating, click here to see suggestions for outfits and color schemes that might work best for you.
Yes! Please get some rest the night before. Be sure to eat before you go. Relax. Please do not stress or pick at yourself of your kids. In family situations please worry about yourself and look at the camera with a natural smile. Do not look down or over to see how others look. It is my job to get everyone's attention, and I want you to be worry-free.
Always take time to clip/polish fingernails. Get a brow wax before the day of the shoot. Be sure to consult Liz or Marlee regarding your wardrobe. Iron clothes. If you might wrinkle or sweat, change when you arrive. Please see the answer to our question "What should I wear for my session" above. Click here to go straight to our outfit pinboard. We also offer professional stylists at an additional charge. Click here for information about Jamie Gonzalez, our favorite stylist. Professional makeup is a great choice too. Click here for information about Stephanie, our recommended go-to makeup artist. If you prefer a lower cost option, mall services are approximately $50- such as Mac or Lancome. For head shots, product and glamour we suggest professional hair services. Click here for information about our favorite hair stylist, Kate Quinn.
In the case of kids I think all parents know it is better to be over-prepared than not. You know your children best so this is up to your discretion. Water bottles are encouraged, outfit changes, favorite toys, etc. It is also ideal to bring your kids after napping and being fed; snacks are difficult for a photographer to compete with!
There are a variety of locations for you to choose from for your shoot. You can click here to see possible locations that Liz has shot at before. We are also open to new locations. Additionally, a session can be booked in-studio for extra charge.
We will either send you a link to a personal digital album where you can download your photos, a USB, and or prints. This depends on what you have ordered.
iz will always be your photographer. The only time someone else will be shooting is when a second-shooter is being used, which will be our Executive Assistant Marlee Brannock.

Your event is all about you. We want to be the fly on the wall capturing every detail of the day as if we were not there. We will arrive in simple attire with neutral colors, and always put-together and presentable. You are more than welcome to share preference in this area as well; we are here to suit your needs.
We will stay as long as your chosen session states. Be that as it may, your wedding is the only event we have scheduled for the day, so we will be happy to stay longer if need be.
